Visual Methods of Meditation
Meditation involves our senses. Through them we can experience and observe the most subtle processes operating within our body and mind. The object above is one of the most ancient visual meditation aids known to man. It is called Shri Yantra and the first known example dates back at least 10,000 years.
Many people when they are first beginning to learn to meditate find this soothing to gaze upon. With it, one, with practice, can go quite deeply into the relaxation and alertness that are the two wings of meditation.
